A smile makeover at Conway House can draw on any combination of the following, sequenced in the order that achieves the best clinical and aesthetic result:
Teeth Whitening
Professional whitening is almost always the starting point of a smile makeover — or happens immediately before the final cosmetic stage, so that any restorations are shade-matched to a brightened smile. We offer Enlighten and White Dental Beauty systems, both of which deliver predictable, natural-looking results through custom-made home whitening trays. Whitening is planned first so that the shade of any crowns, veneers, or bonding is matched to your brightened natural teeth rather than their starting colour.
Composite Bonding
A versatile, conservative option for reshaping teeth, closing gaps, repairing chips, and evening out edges. Bonding is completed chairside in a single appointment, requires no tooth preparation in most cases, and can produce dramatic results at a relatively modest investment. It is the most accessible entry point for a smile makeover and is ideal for patients whose teeth are healthy and well-aligned but lack the shape or surface they want.
Porcelain Veneers
Where bonding is not sufficient — for example where significant changes in tooth length, shape, or colour are needed, or where durability under heavier biting forces matters — porcelain veneers offer a more permanent solution. A thin layer of tooth structure is removed to accommodate the veneer, which is then custom-fabricated in ceramic to match the exact shade, shape, and translucency of natural teeth. The result is highly aesthetic and long-lasting. At Conway House, veneer cases that involve multiple teeth or require careful bite consideration are overseen by our Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Mr Ashok Vijayakumar.
Teeth Straightening
Alignment is the foundation of any great smile. Composite bonding or veneers placed on crooked or misaligned teeth require more tooth reduction, look less natural, and carry greater long-term risk. Straightening first — with Invisalign clear aligners or fixed braces — creates the optimal canvas for cosmetic work and often reduces the number of teeth that need treating. Dr Helen Veeroo, our Consultant and Specialist Orthodontist, works alongside the cosmetic team to sequence orthodontic and cosmetic treatment for the best combined result.
Crowns
Where a tooth has been significantly damaged by decay, fracture, or wear, a crown provides both protection and a natural aesthetic result. In the context of a smile makeover, crowns are used where veneers or bonding cannot provide sufficient coverage or structural support — typically for heavily restored or root-treated teeth. Mr Vijayakumar, our Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, designs and places crowns for smile makeover cases where specialist precision is required.
Dental Implants
Missing teeth are one of the most common reasons patients seek a smile makeover. Where a gap exists, a dental implant — a titanium root placed in the jawbone, topped with a custom crown — is the most natural-looking and long-lasting solution. Implant placement at Conway House is performed by Mr Dipesh Patel, our Consultant Oral Surgeon, with the implant crown designed and fitted by Mr Vijayakumar, our Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, so that it integrates seamlessly with the surrounding cosmetic work.
Gum Contouring and Periodontal Aesthetics
An uneven gumline — sometimes called a “gummy smile” — can make even well-shaped teeth look disproportionate. Gum contouring reshapes the gum margin to create a more balanced, symmetrical frame for the teeth. At Conway House, this is performed by Dr Mital Patel, our Specialist in Periodontics, who also ensures that any gum disease or recession affecting the appearance of the smile is treated as part of the overall plan. Healthy, well-contoured gums are the frame that makes the rest of the smile work.
