As we age, the structural components of our face start to change unfavourably: the skin loses elasticity, the soft tissues and bone break down, which leads to an aged appearance. The level of hyaluronic acid in our skin, the skin’s natural moisturiser, decreases too.
The cheeks look flatter, the eyes hollower, and the lower face looks heavier with an accentuation of nose-to-mouth lines and mouth-to-chin lines. The skin appears less hydrated and plump, leading to initially fine and eventually deeper lines and wrinkles. The lips may lose volume and definition, and the corners may droop. Other contributing causes are significant weight loss, excessive sun exposure, and smoking.
Dermal filler treatments are used to replace the lost volume, improve skin quality, and make the face look more refreshed and more akin to its former self. The results are immediate, but get better over the following few weeks. The body breaks down the hyaluronic acid with time, and follow-up treatments help to maintain the result.

Lips can be treated to improve definition, shape, and proportion, as well as prevent lipstick bleeding and sad-looking lips with downturned corners. We do not like lips to look unnatural or over-enlarged. Dermal filler lips are, therefore, very beneficial in augmenting the beauty of your lips.

Depending on the area treated and the individual, the results last between 6 and 12 months, after which follow-up treatment can be provided.
Dermal fillers are extremely safe; however, after treatment, it is possible to have some short-lived swelling, redness, itching and mild tenderness.
It is also possible to have some bruising. Other, more serious complications are rare and can be reversed by the filler reversal agent.
Once any numbness from the cream and filler has worn off, we advise applying ice to the area. We also recommend that you return for a review 2-3 weeks after treatment.
