Commonly Asked Questions

What are Restylane Skinboosters?

It’s like an injectable moisturiser! They do not change the shape, volume or muscle-movement of your face. They are microinjections, directly put under your skin to make it smooth and even by providing deep-skin hydration.

It is a treatment which has been used for the last 20 years designed to improve skin hydration, firmness, elasticity and smoothness, manifesting as a healthy glow. Fine lines are diminished. Each treatment involves a series of hydrating microinjections or sweeps with a blunt cannula of long-lasting hyaluronic acid, a water-loving molecule found naturally in the body that maintains hydration in the skin. Our natural hyaluronic acid breaks down very quickly and contributes to an aged appearance.

How does Restylane Skinboosters work?

The skin is composed of cells called fibroblasts, which produce collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid that are connective tissues making the skin firm. But in the late twenties, the function of fibroblasts start deteriorating, and they become incapable of producing these connective tissues in proper amounts. Ultimately, your skin becomes wrinkled and loses its moisture.

Restylane skin boosters treatment helps in augmenting this hydration by using microinjections directly under the skin, which act as deep-skin hydrants and addition of hyaluronic acid works as a plumping agent. This gives your skin natural-looking radiance from within.

Where can it be used?

Face
Neck
Hands
Dècolletage
Acne scars

How does it compare to other treatments?

Restylane Skinboosters are made with cross-linked hyaluronic acid meaning the result lasts up to 12 months. Treatments that it can be compared to are mesotherapy and Profhilo, where the effects do not last as long.

How may treatments will I need?

You will notice the improvement in skin integrity after the first treatment, but usually, a second treatment is provided after 1 month for the best results.
Maintenance treatments may be considered 6-12 months later, but are patient dependent.

What are the side effects?

There may be a little redness, swelling or pinprick bruising due to the injections, which usually settles after 48 hours.

How much do Restylane Skinboosters cost?

The cost varies depending on which area is being treated, but a single treatment starts at £280.
