Wrinkle Correction Treatment

As we get older, we build many great memories as well as lots of knowledge and wisdom. There are also physical changes, including the ageing of our faces, which can concern some of us.  Ageing is an inevitable and irreversible process that every human being has to go through. But with advancing technology, even though you cannot reverse ageing but you can definitely conceal the ongoing process by using several safe and non-surgical procedures included under a domain called facial aesthetics.

If you are deemed suitable, anti-wrinkle treatments can be provided after a thorough consultation and are a safe, simple, and non-surgical way to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles within 2 weeks.

Wrinkles appear initially with facial expression and, with time, become a permanent feature on the face. The areas typically affected are between the brows, around the eyes, and across the forehead.

Anti-wrinkle treatments can also be used to treat excessive sweating under the arms and jaw muscle strain, to reduce gummy lines and neck banding as well as create an eyebrow lift. Cobbled chins can be smoothened, and downward-pointing lip corners can be lifted. The results last 3-6 months, depending on the person. You will still be able to express yourself, the treated areas just won’t crease as much!

Commonly Asked Questions

Can I have anti-wrinkle treatments?

Suitability for treatment is determined after a facial consultation with our Dentist and Aesthetic Practitioner, Dr. Nina Kelman. Anti-wrinkle treatments are contraindicated when pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you have a neuromuscular disease such as Myasthenia Gravis.

How does anti-wrinkle treatment work?

It is injected directly into the skin and temporarily causes relaxation of the facial muscles by blocking neuromuscular junctions and helping to iron out the wrinkles on the face.

Are they any side-effects?

There may be some short-lived swelling and redness. Rarely, some people get a mild headache, which resolves after a few days.

Post-treatment advice

We advise you to exercise your treated muscles as much as possible for a couple of hours after treatment to optimise your results. It is best to stay upright for a few hours, avoid exercise, and excessive pressure on the treated areas for a few days, i.e. when cleaning your face.
